22 selected for Jr Girls Nat’l Football Championship

PANAJI: 22 girls have been selected to represent Goa at Hero Junior Girls National Football Championship 2019-20 which will be held from April 20 to May 1 at Kolhapur. The following is the team: Mamata Rajkumari Ram, Flani Costa, Raynel Calice Dias, Daisy Lisa Crasto, Subba Numa, Rhea Pires, Musharat Bashasab Hanakanahalli, Simran Deepak Narvekar, Sujata Nagraj Shetty, Tanvi Pradeep Parulekar, Jivisha Ramdas Kolwalkar, Larya Joyce Fernandes, Karen Estrocio, Donea Celia Fernandes, Thais Marie Mascarenhas, Elita Dias, Chanel Crizzle, Dyumna Madan, Aniela Barretto and Nasrat Kotewala.


Aalhad Chati picked for World Aquatic Championship

PANAJI: Goan swimmer Aalhad Chati has been selected for the World Aquatic Championship at Napales, Italy in July, where he will participate in the diving category, stated a press note by Goa Swimming Association. Aalhad has won gold medals in platform diving, silver medals in 3 mtr springboard diving and bronze medal in 1 mtr diving in All India University Championship held at Bangalore in Oct 2018.


Goa Aquatic C’ship from May 25

PANAJI: The 31th Goa state Sub Juniors, Juniors And Seniors Aquatic Championships will be held on May 25, 26 & 27 at SAG Swimming Pool, Peddem. The competition will be held between 8.30 am to 11.00 am & 3.00 pm to 7.00 pm, said a Goa Swimming Association press note. The diving event will be organised at DSYA Swimming Pool, Ponda between 8.30 am to 11.00 am & 3.00 pm to 7.00 pm. Entry forms for the same will be available from April 23 with Swimming coaches at Campal, Fatorda, Quepem, Peddem and Ponda Swimming Pools. Those interested may submit their forms with 2 passport size photographs to their respective coaches on or before May 5.


Youth Basketball State Championship from Apr 26

PANAJI: Goa Basketball Association will be holding the Youth Basketball State Championship for all schools, clubs, institutions and private teams at Don Bosco Oratory Fatorda from April 26 – 28. All those born on or after 1st Jan 2003 are eligible to participate in the State Championship. Players will be selected by a committee who will represent Goa in the 36th Youth National Championships to be held in Coimbatore.
