TT team championship for juniors/youth
PANAJI: Panjim Table Tennis Club in association with JCI St Inez will organise its 1st Purushottam VP Navelkar Memorial Table Tennis League Team Championship for Juniors/ Youth (boys and girls) from September 6 to 7 from 3 pm onwards at Indoor Stadium, Campal. Each Team will comprise of minimum 3 boys and 1 girl with age below 21 years. Matches will comprise of 2 boys singles, 1 girls singles, 1 boys doubles and 1 mixed doubles in a best of 5 format. Entries may be submitted to Sandeep Heble or Noel Estibeiro on or before September 5 latest by 2 pm.
Navelim SC’s Gold/Silver rolling trophy
PANAJI: The 33rd Gold /Silver Rolling Trophy, an all-Goa inter-village football tournament, organised by Navelim Sporting Club in memory of Late Joaquim Faleiro will kick off on September 7 at Rosary grounds with the inaugural match to be played between St Jose de Areal and Raia Sporting Club. The following 16 teams will participate in the tournament: Raia SC, St Jose de Areal, Don Bosco Oratory Fatorda, Ambelim SC, Wilred Leisure Curtorim, Young Strikers Benaulim, Cuncolim Union, Parish Youth Nuvem, CRC Chinchinim, St Anthony’s Colva, Navelim SC, St Rock’s YC Majorda, Verna SC, Guardian Angels, St Anthony Club Siolim- Marna and Chandor SC. The finals will be held on October 5.
Naguesh eyes double crown at BPS TT
PANAJI: Naguesh Verenkar and Vaidic Shrivastava have set up finals clash in cadet boys category as they registered wins in their respective semifinal matches at the All Goa BPS Open Major Ranking Table Tennis Tournament being held at club ground, Margao on Tuesday. Naguesh beat Shantesh Phapsenkar 11-8, 11-9, 11-2 while Vaidic defeated Nilay Kamat 11-8, 11-9, 11-8. Naguesh has also reached the finals of mini cadet boys category defeating Parv Rastogi 11-6, 13-11, 11-7. He will take on Shantesh Mhapsenkar who got the better of Anshuman Agarwal 8-11,11-2,11-8,11-9 in the other semis.
