I saw a small girl,<\/span><\/div>\n
Cute and young\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n
Carrying face with all hardships unsung.<\/span><\/div>\n
Her face was under the shadow of dirt and thirst,<\/span><\/div>\n
But when I asked for a balloon she was selling, she gave me an exquisite smile first!<\/span><\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/div>\n
“Did you have food?” I asked,<\/span><\/div>\n
“Mm” her response was shattered and masked.<\/span><\/div>\n
“She was hungry”, from those eyes carrying chronic suffering I realised,<\/span><\/div>\n
Gave her something to eat and with gratitude in her eyes she smiled.<\/span><\/div>\n

Her dirt then turned into glitter on her face,<\/span><\/div>\n
Her thirst was quenched and she was again ready to sell more balloons and win the race.<\/span><\/div>\n
These are the children of the street whose life almost seems to be shattered and cracked…<\/span><\/div>\n
Face? Untidy. Clothes? Dirty… still feeling the greatest of gratitude that you and I lack.<\/span><\/div>\n

How often do we feel gratitude for clean cozy branded clothes we wear?<\/span><\/div>\n
How often do we feel gratitude for being honoured with schooling and pages we tear?<\/span><\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/div>\n
How often are we grateful for not having an empty stomach?<\/span><\/div>\n
How often are we grateful for being employed and having decent work?<\/span><\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/div>\n
Listening to Street stories warms our eyes,<\/span><\/div>\n
But then after shading some tears, we get back to the same lies.<\/span><\/div>\n
Respect and feel gratitude for everything you possess,<\/span><\/div>\n
Look at those beneath you and\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n
it’ll definitely filter all the disgrace.<\/span><\/div>\n
