To commemorate the 107th birth anniversary of founder Vasantrao Dempo, Founder\u2019s Day was celebrated at D.C.T\u2019s Vasantrao Dempo HSS of Arts, Science & Commerce, Cujira, St. Cruz.<\/p>\n
The chief guest on the occasion was the chairman of the Dempo Charities Trust, Shrinivas Dempo.<\/p>\n
Speaking on the occasion, Dempo urged the students to read every day, spend time with nature, be curious and ask questions. He added that they should never stop learning, teach others what they know, practice patience and never be afraid of committing mistakes. He also told students to pursue their passion and achieve their dreams by not paying heed to negative criticism.<\/p>\n
The Late Vasantrao Dempo Scholarships were distributed by Dempo and other dignitaries on the dais to the meritorious students from the village of St. Cruz. This marked the 22nd edition of the distribution of these scholarships. The Dempo Charities Trust\u2019s Merit cum Means Scholarships were distributed to Goan students pursuing research work in the state of Goa and other states.<\/p>\n
Dempo also felicitated individual student winners in different sports who excelled at state and national levels. The football teams who won the U-18 Reliance Cup, U-17 Subroto Cup and U-19 DSYA state-level title and the chess teams were also felicitated.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
