The movie is all about plain and simple love. It makes you fall in love with the character played by Shahrukh Khan. How can one not fall in love when he says his famous dialogue “Bade bade deshon mein aisi choti choti baatein hoti rehti hai” and his unique laughter. The songs are so melodious that they never get old. Even though they hardly said I love you to each other we knew it was love when Raj said: “palat”. It was love when Raj flew to India from London for his love, when he kept the Karva Chauth fast for her, when he prayed for her happiness in the church and nothing else. It was love when he tried to woo her parents. It was fulfilling to see Raj have blind faith in his love and thinking that running away isn’t an option. DDLJ gave us Raj who ended up being every girl’s dream man. At the end DDLJ teaches us that love can win over everything and with love, everything finds its way.

Sweta Satardekar, Candolim

[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][et_pb_row][et_pb_column type=”2_3″][et_pb_text _builder_version=”3.8″]

It is one of the first romantic films I watched at the age of 11. This movie occupies permanent place in my memory as it introduced me to the romantic world. I think most girls of my generation have had the feelings of “aisa pehli baar hua hai…” at some point in life. My favourite scene is undoubtedly the last scene “Ja Simran Ja”. Even today every time I travel by railway I think of Shahrukh Khan extending his arm and Kajol running and getting into the train. In fact it’s the first thing that comes to mind whenever I think of this film.

Anju Dhume, Panaji

[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=”1_3″][et_pb_image _builder_version=”3.8″ src=”http://www.navhindtimes.in/kuriocity/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/Anju-Dhume-Panaji.jpg” /][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][et_pb_row][et_pb_column type=”1_3″][et_pb_image _builder_version=”3.8″ src=”http://www.navhindtimes.in/kuriocity/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/Priyanka-R-Fernandes.jpg” /][/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=”2_3″][et_pb_text _builder_version=”3.8″]

“Ja Simran Ja, Jee Le Apni Zindagi”. It has been 25 years since this legendary dialogue by late Amrish Puri and yet, it is one that still finds its place in millennial lingo. DDLJ was the beginning of a new era which subtly changed the Indian audience’s perception of love stories from the rebellious Romeo-Juliet satire, to a ‘happy ending love story’ involving families. The unforgettable ‘Aao, aao’ pigeon feeding scene between Raj and Bauji is a scene that screams ‘love marriages require effort’.

Priyanka R Fernandes, assistant professor, St Joseph Vaz College, Cortalim

[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][et_pb_row][et_pb_column type=”2_3″][et_pb_text _builder_version=”3.8″]

DDLJ is the kind of a film wherein you fall in love with the characters more than the storyline. It is a story of a couple who goes against society and grows together. Well, coming to reality Bollywood does raise high hopes in youth by depicting stalking a girl to be romantic. This way the public is bound to believe the actor. The movie overall has won hearts over the years and will continue to do so.

Varsha Joshi Kamat, Morjim

[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=”1_3″][et_pb_image _builder_version=”3.8″ src=”http://www.navhindtimes.in/kuriocity/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/Varsha-Joshi-Kamat.jpg” /][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][et_pb_row][et_pb_column type=”1_3″][et_pb_image _builder_version=”3.8″ src=”http://www.navhindtimes.in/kuriocity/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/Yashodhara-Roy-Caranzalem.jpg” /][/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=”2_3″][et_pb_text _builder_version=”3.8″]

My first ever movie in a theatre was ‘Dil To Pagal Hai’ and I fell in love with Shahrukh Khan then. I discovered his onscreen origins much after. DDLJ captured me like every other girl in the country. I wanted to be Simran. ‘Mere Khawabo Mein Jo Aaye’ was one of the first songs I sang onstage and till today I believe the lyrics describe me and my life. This film has literally shown that opposites attract. It is a mixture of killer performances with just the right music and scenic beauty.
