M.E.S.’s Vasant Joshi College of Arts & Commerce, Zuarinagar, organised its annual prize distribution ceremony on Thursday, April 20. The chief guest for the function was Sulakshana Sawant.
The event was organised to felicitate the meritorious students of 2021-22 with scholarships. Speaking on the occasion, Sawant emphasised the need to take experience from life and facilitate the ‘Make in India’ movement. Congratulating the prize winners, she instructed the young minds to be consistent, focused, alert, and to learn from everything around them.
The treasurer of Murgaon Education Society, Lalitha Joshi delivered the address, in which she expressed her gratitude towards the chief guest for her presence and support. Sawant was felicitated with a memento and a copy of ‘Murgaon Education Society: The Tale of a Successful Journey’, a book authored by the founder principal and Murgaon Education Society’s Vasant Joshi College’s chairman, M. S. Kamat.
The teacher in-charge Dr. S. Susan Deborah and assistant professors Snigdha Naik and Vasant Pednekar compeered the function. Kamat welcomed the gathering and presented the annual report for the academic year 2022-23. In her presentation, she expressed pride over the achievements of the students of the institution. Various activities conducted were also highlighted. The chairperson of the college council, Satyawan Naik introduced the chief guest.
On the occasion, the fourth volume of the college newsletter, ‘The Voice of MES’ was released by Sawant. The function concluded with a vote of thanks by Ankit Yadav.
