With the baby’s first cry, a decision was made,
“Doctor,” her parents said, her future displayed.
But the question lingered, what of her legacy’s plea?
A singing tradition, a choice yet to be free.
Birth constrained emancipation’s flight,
Religion and caste imposed their might.
Adolescence deemed her choices shameless,
Dating transformed her world, inciting family’s rage, relentless.
Post-matriculation, three paths stood clear,
Science it was, a future drawing near.
Yet in her twenties, as her career did unfurl,
Parents urged, “Marry now, it’s time for a life pearl.”
Does free will truly shape our destiny’s decree?
Or do societal expectations hold the key?
