Before a natural calamity there always exists a deep silence which gives us an indication of the upcoming disaster, we just need to pay attention to it. Today the world is going through a pandemic and our lives have changed completely. Face masks have become necessary, constant washing or sanitization of hands has now become a habit. But beyond these two there has been a drastic change in how we are living our lives.
Who had imagined in January 2020 when people were celebrating the New Year, behind the shadows of the human lifestyle a pandemic was raising its head? Well, I will not go on to the numbers rather I want to focus on the two important things. We were in an illusion of how we humans have changed everything here on the earth, people were buying land on the moon to be part of the future human lunar race, Internet, social media, mobile phones, cinema were the only aspects of modern human existence. Money and power were everything.
I am not saying that whatever I have mentioned above is gone completely. It is all still there but just one pandemic like corona has thought us a lesson that no matter how much we believe that we have control over the planet earth, in reality we are nothing in this vast universe. But are we really learning something from what we all are facing today? Our industries are worse hit by the pandemic. The era of capitalism is slowly ending and new frontiers open as innovative minds come up with a strong formula for a new kind of a economic infrastructure. Today people have started giving time to their family which they never did. Home-cooked food has become Ambrosia (the nectar of gods), immunity is the new oil. Online studies and exams is the new way.
I have come across people complaining about not being able to go to malls to enjoy. Well, the pandemic has opened our eyes and has made us see the truth that overspending on non-essentials is not right.
Here I would like to highlight a versa from Bhagwat Geeta translated in English – ‘I am coming, I am coming, when there is a loss of dharma, and good values and deeds then I am coming, when the iniquity increases, then I am coming to protect the gentlemen, to destroy the wicked I am coming in to establish religion and I am born in the age of era.’
We should always remember that nature is everything and its five great elements are governing the universe according to some protocols and breaking or violating these rules can result in disaster, corona is one such disaster and if we don’t stop then this is just an indicating start to doom.
