Department of bachelor of business administration (travel and tourism) of Rosary College of Commerce and Arts, Navelim organised a one-day national level inter-collegiate event ENTRADA’18 on the theme ‘Tourism and the Digital Transformation’. Seven teams from various colleges participated in the event.
Chief guest for the event was proprietor of Go Green Eco Resort and La Q’Sine and founder of Goan Seamen Association of India, Dixon Vaz. Speaking at the event Vaz said the tourism industry needs smart and confident individuals to successfully manage the business. Students should give the utmost importance to building their personalities and develop themselves to keep up with the changing technology.
The event had competitions like Tourismo Digitale, City Conto, Brain drain, Promoviendo Cidade, Digivolution, Conquistador, Rapidez, Tech-wealth, Hunt ‘Em Up, Splash Colours and Create-a-base.
The sub-events were judged by personalities from the industry.
Chief guest for the valedictory function was HR manager, Goa Heritage Village Club, Arossim, Sidhesh Bandodkar who highlighted that the tourism industry is advancing rapidly with employment opportunities for the youth. He said that Goa is a perfect destination for weddings and MICE tourism. Goa has scope for tourism in two new segments, Eco tourism, and Health and Well-being tourism. Students should take this advantage and be agents of change in the Industry.
First place was won by KLE Society’s Lingraj College of BBA, Belagavi and runners-up were St Xavier’s College, Mapusa.
