In the wake of the coronavirus disastrous effect on the local economy, Pilerne based Kineco Group, comprising of Kineco Ltd and Kineco Kaman Composites India Pvt Ltd, pledged, along with employees Rs 25 lakhs to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. The amount will be utilized towards setting up of Covid-19 dedicated hospital in the state.
The Kineco Group completes 25 years in 2020 and was planning a big bash to celebrate the milestone. However given the unprecedented calamity, the group decided to use its resources to contribute to Covid -19 relief efforts instead of holding 25th anniversary celebrations.
The group has made an immediate contribution of Rs. 10 lacs and will progressively contribute the promised amount of Rs 25 lakh over the next few months. Founder and Managing Director,Shekhar Sardessai contributed Rs two lakh in his personal capacity.
“While we are aware of the economic and financial impact of the pandemic and resultant lock out on business we are also conscious of our social responsibility towards the people affected by the calamity. It is most prudent that in catastrophic times like this government and industries join hands against the threat which engulfs all of us,” said Sardessai.
