The Karma group is celebrating 25 years of operations in India. Founded by John Spence, the Karma award-winning international travel and lifestyle chain has about 22 resorts in more than 10 countries.
In India, the group started in Goa, from the Royal Goan Beach Club, Cavellosim. Currently the company has turnover in excess of US$100m and employs more than 2,500 people globally. “We’ve been blessed with success,” said Spence, adding that, the group operates under the unconventional philosophy that great vacations shouldn’t merely be defined by clean linen and comfortable accommodation and location. “It’s not enough to simply build astounding resorts. We create extraordinary experiences that our guests will remember for a lifetime. We are dedicated to revolutionising the standards of services and offerings in the hospitality industry thereby creating a customer experience that surpasses expectations,” he said.
Internationally, the group has presence in Bali, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Philippines, Japan, Australia, Mykonos, Crete, the Bavarian Alps, France, and England. Looking ahead, the group is looking to expand into the Caribbean. In Goa the group has four properties.
