Indian Army’s Bishworjit finishes first

Bishworjit Singh Saikhom of the Indian Army finished first in the Ironman 70.3 triathlon held here on Sunday. In the women’s category, Natascha Badman was the first to finish the event in 5:18:49 hrs.

The 29-yr-old armyman, complete the grueling event of 1.9 km swim, 90 km cycling and 21 kms run with an impressive time of 4:42:44. He was followed by Nihal Baig of IIT Bombay who finished the race in 4:47:49. M Lourembam finished third with a time of 4:52:04.

In the team event category, Delhi’s Juggernauts comprising Adit Dahiya (swim), Yashish Dahiya (cycling) and Pankkaj Dhiman (run) finished first.

Puvilin Kahandawala of Sri Lanka came second clocking 6:07:34 hrs in the women’s category followed by Natalie Edwards of Australia third at 6:08:31.
