IHM celebrates ‘Hindi Pakhwada’

PANAJI: IHM GOA celebrated Hindi Pakhwada from  September 1 to 15. The Principal. Donna D’Souza was the chairperson, Suryakant V Parastekar, Administrative Officer (Convenor) and Sanjeev Kadkade, HOD–I was the deputy convenor. The celebration started with Hindi Hasya Kavita competition wherein the students of the Institute participated. The second day was for Hindi Typing Competition for the administrative staff. The third was the day of Hindi solo singing (film Karaoke) competition for all the Central Government Offices in North Goa and students of the Institute. There were participants from Doordarshan,  NIO, Audit Bhavan, MPEDA, Bharat Petroleum, BSNL. The chief guest for the occasion was the Deputy Director of Art and Culture, Government of Goa,  Ashok Parab.  September 4 was for Hindi Translation Competition for the administrative staff. The residents of the hostel of the Institute, both boys and girls participated in ‘Dance & Hindi’   Thought’ Competition held on September  5 & 6 respectively.  Elocution Competition on ‘Tourism in India in 21st Century’ and Hindi vs. English was held on 7th September. September 8 was the day of lecture by Pankaj Kumar Singh  on Hindi – in historicultural and global context’. A poster competition on the topics ‘Unity in diversity’ and ‘India a new discovery’ was organized by  Moses  Fernandes, Faculty. On the 10th of September for the office and academic staff was organised Hindi Poetry/song competition, where a large number of  both teaching and non teaching staff participated enthusiastically. Mr. Kamlesh Dange, Faculty organised Hindi Sher-Shayari  competition on the  September11. Hindi Film Dialogue and Hindi Antakshari competitions were organised on September 12 & 13 respectively.  Dr Rakesh Sharma, Hindi Officer of National Institute of Oceanography, Dona Paula, Goa conducted workshop on Hindi sentence syntax and words for the academic and administrative staff. The final day of the fortnight i.e. September 15 was celebrated  as Valedictory day. The function was presided by Senior Principal Scientist of National Institute of Oceanography, Dr Arvind Saran.
