Efforts are on to reinvent the International Center Goa (ICG), Dona Paula, for the future.
As a non-government cultural hub, the ICG is well-known for seminar’s workshops, fests and events. Some of its more important programmes are the Goa Arts & Literature Festival, Difficult Dialogues, Ideas Unleashed, Research Grants competition, Annual Lectures, etc.
In future, however, the endeavor is to change the center’s profile. Dr Pushkar, director, ICG, said, presently the ICG is being promoted both as a hotel as well as an ideational centre.
He explained that, the center regularly organizes public lectures on a variety of topics by eminent academics, journalists and others. ‘’As an ideational centre we give lot of emphasis to public outreach activities such as lectures, conferences, and other kinds of programmes. But with the renovation of our premises we are carving a deeper niche for our self.”
Post renovation of 22 rooms and Laran lawns, the ICG has 43 spacious rooms each with large balconies, swimming pool, a small gym, four conference halls of different sizes and several green outdoor venues. “The venues are ideal for marriages and other social events. The rooms, conference halls, outdoor venues and other facilities are open to the general public,” said Pushkar.
