Hyundai Motors India, launched a new SUV- the Venue. The sub-compact vehicle is being pitched as India’s first connected SUV via an inbuilt e-Sim. The mobile connectivity offers customers control of their vehicle even when they are away from it.
The futuristic car offers space, comfort, safety and ergonomics with new age style. It promises solid presence, refreshing driving experience and seamless connectivity. The car was unveiled to the public on board the cruise liner, Angriya while the pan-India dealer launch is expected to be on May 21.
Speaking at the unveiling, SS Kim, managing director and CEO, Hyundai Motor India, said, “We are committed to lead the Indian auto industry by introducing world-class product. The Venue will create quality time for customers making their life a happy life. Being India’s first connected SUV, not only makes it a new benchmark in the segment but also demonstrates the company’s unwavering emphasis on offering the highest quality and feature-rich products to the customers.” He added that the Venue will enable ease of life and empower customers to have a safer, connected and more versatile car ownership experience.
In appearance the model conveys modern design and compactness. For those constantly on-the-go, it offers adaptability to the urban lifestyle. From everyday workplace activities to weekend fun, the car is being pushed as a great fit in accommodating busy lifestyles with an abundance of playful and practical features.
The vehicle side profile showcases a solid and full volume wheel arch, while the front mesh pattern grille includes the new Hyundai signature face. This unique character line continues through the tail lamps.
The car is available in petrol and diesel variants The 7 speed dual clutch transmission is highly efficient and has least torque transfer interruption while shifting gears. The transmission has been subjected to rigorous durability tests for ensuring high gear strength. Better clutch friction offers the best performance at high speeds, off-road, hill-sides and harsh climatic conditions.
The SUV’s appeal is in its comfortable interior space and cabin space for the versatile urban commuter. It comes with a host of comfort and convenience features including electric sunroof, wireless phone charging, air purifier, cruise control to name a few. Connectivity is through eSIM of Vodafone-Idea and a cloud-based voice recognition platform from a global AI company. The Blue Link is in-built and tamper-proof. Its services are complimentary for first three years after which customers can further renew the services.
The company is actively training a team of over 615 blue link experts who in turn will train over 10,000 sales consultants. Approximately 9,000 service manpower will also be trained for any customer queries related to blue link services. The Venue comes with three years, unlimited warranty and three years road side assistance.
Hyundai is the second largest car manufacturer in India and the number one car exporter since inception in India. The company currently has nine car models across segments and manufactures from the Chennai plant.
