Handful of Fr Bismarque agitators aiming for political mileage: Hema Sardesai

A handful of agitators demanding justice for late Fr Bismarque Dias are trying to garner political mileage over the issue, the well-known Bollywood singer Hema Sardesai has claimed.
Sardesai said that it is not right to mess with the death of such a great human being. “You did not stand by him when he was alive. Enough of false love and affection to Fr Bismarque”, said Sardesai referring to those ‘(handful) agitating people’ who are demanding justice for late Fr Bismarque.
Sardesai addressed media in the city on Tuesday following outrage (by some people) over her article on Fr Bismarque Dias.
“Nobody knew Fr Bismarque better than myself, and no one stood by Bismarque like I did. I won’t rest till Fr Bismarque gets justice. The truth should come out”, Sardesai said.
“Not all are politically motivated. There are 10 percent, who I feel are politically motivated. That ten percent (people) are talking, and when they talk, they better talk right or else I will expose them”, said Sardesai
Sardesai further said, “I support everybody who is supporting Fr Bismarque with a clean heart, without a motive and without trying to be a vulture. Let us focus on the police investigation like I am pursing”.
It may be recalled that the body of Dias was recovered on November 7 from a river near a sluice gate in his village St Estevam from where he reportedly went missing on the night of November 5.
The case was earlier probed by the Old Goa police however with demands from family as well social activists, the case was transferred to the Crime Branch.
Following the demands of Dias family and social activists who suspected foul play, a second postmortem was conducted. The second postmortem too had ruled out physical injuries prior to death but had reserved its opinion on cause of death pending viscera chemical analysis report and the diatom test.
Family members and friends of Fr Dias including social activists who suspected foul play in the death have been holding candle light vigils in various parts of the state demanding a thorough probe in the case.
