It was GST all the way last week with three separate programmes on the momentous tax organized by various bodies. The commercial tax department on June 20 held an awareness programme for Panjim dealers. The event received full house participation from dealers with hardly any empty seats in Menezes Braganza Hall.
On June 21, CII-Goa conducted an industry preparedness workshop. It was attended by more than 110 delegates from over 40 companies. The workshop was aimed at creating greater understanding of the tax that comes into effect from July 1. Adv Asish Philip Abraham, Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan, Attorneys delivered the key note address on implementation of GST. Wide cross section of Goa’s business community including developers, real estate agents, hotels, manufacturing companies, bonded warehouses as well as free trade zones attended the workshop.
The All Goa Tax Practitioners Association (AGTPA) also conducted a GST seminar for its members on June 23 at GCCI hall. The AGTPA got eminent chartered accountants to educate members on all aspects of the forthcoming tax.
