Panaji: In a bid to push resumption of economic activities, the state government has decided to allow from April 21 the operation of industrial establishments, a few public utilities, financial and social services and media houses.
The government has also allowed restart of operations in IT-related commercial entities, farming activities, cargo and related essential services and health services.
According to the statement issued by the department of information and publicity, industries in rural areas, export oriented units, industrial estates, industrial townships, manufacturing units of essential goods, IT hardware, food processing units, jute industries have been allowed to resume operations.
Brick kiln in rural areas, construction activities including roads, irrigation and renewable energy projects, and construction works in municipalities have also been permitted to function.
Under public utilities, the government has allowed online educational services including teaching, training and coaching, and works under the Mahatma Gandhi National Employment Guarantee Act.
Furthermore, operation of oil and gas, power, postal services, besides water, sanitation, waste management, telecom and Internet services have also been allowed.
Under financial and social services, several activities have been permitted including RBI regulated financial markets and entities, banks, ATMs, IT vendors for banking operations, capital and debt market services under SEBI, IRDAI and insurance companies.
Home for the children, divyang and elderly and altercare homes, disbursement of social security pensions, provident fund by EPFO and operation of anganwadis have also been allowed.
Commercial activities like print and electronic media, IT related services with up to 50 per cent strength besides data and call centres for government activities, citizen service centres at panchayat level and e-commerce companies have also been permitted.
Courier services, cold storage and warehouses, private security and facilities management services, hotels, homestays and self-employed people like electricians, plumbers etc have also been allowed.
Agriculture services, including farming operations, and transportation of cargo (inter and intra state) by air, rail, land and sea routes have also been allowed.
