Governor hosts public reception at Raj Bhavan

Panaji: Governor Satya Pal Malik hosted public reception at Raj Bhavan, Dona Paula, on the occasion of 58th anniversary of Goa Liberation.

During the reception, the Governor along with Chief Minister Pramod Sawant interacted with eminent personalities from different walks of life, senior government officers and others.

On the occasion, the Governor Malik presented  awards of Rs 50,000 each for two clean cities and two clean villages in the state as an encouragement for undertaking cleanliness under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.

In the category of clean city, award was bagged by Panaji for North Goa and Ponda for South Goa.

Mayor of the Corporation of the City of Panaji  Uday Madkaikar and Commissioner of CCP Sanjit Rodrigues received the award.

Chairperson of  Ponda Municipal Council Venkatesh Naik and chief officer Kedar Naik received the award. 

Similarly, sarpanch of Anjuna Caisua village panchayat Patrick Savio Almeida and deputy sarpanch Sheetal Naik and also sarpanch of Cavelossim Panchayat Dionzio Do Rosario John Conceica Dias and deputy sarpanch Jane Fernandes received the award for clean villages in North and South Goa respectively.

The public reception was attended by a large number of eminent personalities, prominent among them were Deputy Chief Minister Chandrakant Kavlekar, Minister for Transport Mauvin Godinho, Mapusa MLA Joshua D`Souza, Fatorda MLA  Vijay Sardesai, Siolim MLA Vinod Palyekar, spouse of Chief Minister Sulakshana Sawant, Governor`s family members  

Kabir Malik, Nivedita Chandra, Chief Secretary Parimal Rai, Secretary to Governor Rupesh Kumar Thakur, Collector, North Goa R Menaka, Collector South Goa Ajit Roy, secretaries to government, senior officers of defence, heads of various departments, representatives of various public institutions, freedom fighters, renowned industrialists,

and professionals.
