The state recorded yet another case of the dreaded coronavirus (COVID-19) on Sunday even as two active COVID patients recovered from the disease.
Health secretary Nila Mohanan told a press conference in Panaji that the person, who tested positive for the pandemic had travelled from Maharashtra and entered Goa by road.
She has been admitted to the Margao-based designated COVID Hospital, and her health condition is reported to be ‘stable’, while the two ‘recovered’ patients have been discharged from the hospital and placed under quarantine as per the protocol.
Till date, Goa has seen 71 confirmed cases of COVID-19, of which 27 are currently active and 44 patients have defeated the deadly virus.
Mohanan informed that seven new suspected cases of coronavirus were reported in Goa on Sunday.
She said of the 2,053 samples drawn for examination on Saturday, 1,226 tested negative, one tested positive, while the reports of the remaining 826 samples are awaited.
The health secretary said that at present some 292 people have been quarantined at various residencies and hotels across the state.
