Goan industry pushes for nautical tourism

The CII- Goa conference on nautical tourism seminar on October 13 aimed at bringing all the stakeholders together for addressing key issues facing the industry. RAdm Shekhar Mital, chairman, CII- Goa, Kirit Maganlal, past chairman, were the key members who called for Goa as a destination for nautical tourism.

Sheo Pratap Singh, secretary tourism, was the chief guest for the occasion and Capt Premala Sirsaikar, deputy Captain of Ports, a special guest.

Industrialist Cesar Menezes was felicitated by Shrinivas V Dempo, past chairman, CII western region and chairman, Dempo Shipbuilding and Engg, for his contribution towards the sport of sailing in the state. The seminar discussed ways to develop nautical tourism. It had a session on yacht sailing wherein participants spoke on the need to create awareness of the sport in schools and introduce sailing in the school curriculum.
