Goa reports sixth confirmed case of COVID-19


A Goan who had returned from African countries on March 19, has tested positive for the dreaded coronavirus (COVID-19). 

With this new case, the total number of confirmed case in the state have climbed to six.

Health Minister Vishwajit Rane informed that the particular person has a travel history to Mozambique and Kenya  and had arrived in Goa on March 19 via a domestic flight from Mumbai and subsequently the person got self-admitted. 

“We are in the process to quarantine his first contacts,” Rane twitted. 

In another Tweet Rane stated that a 50 year old man died in isolation ward at Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim, he however claimed that the deceased was tested negative for COVID-19. 

The deceased was reported to be suffering from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
