Goa gets set for beats of Africa

The rhythmic sounds of Africa will echo through Goa in a sensational live concert this November. Led by Goa’s Aldrin Soares and Neil Ribeiro, Lumberjack is bringing Africa’s best to India with James Jozee and The Gogosimo Band, live on stage at The Panjim Gymkhana on November 15, 2019.

The Afro Experience promises a fabulous evening with exquisite gourmet food and premium drinks all around. The eight-piece band, led by multi-talented instrumentalist and acclaimed pianist James Jozee, has filled concert venues, eager to hear soul, jazz and African music.

A high-energy natural showman of French, Congolese and Kenyan heritage, Jozee shares the stage with international and top African artists and is a regular on the African music circuit. With six albums under his belt, he has performed with Hugh Masekela and Salif Keita, and recorded with Papa Wemba, Isaiah Katumwa and Dede


James Jozee and The Gogosimo Band has garnered thousands of fans all over Africa and Europe with covers of popular songs as well as original tracks from jazz, Latino, pop, rumba, Afro beats, salsa, zouk, segaa, mwanzele, mserego and soul.

Putting together an action-packed show with him are David Ndashia Omamu (lead guitars), Mechack Niyonkuru (drums), Michael Onyango Awalla (bass guitar), Matilda Hilda Achayo (vocals), Noah Robert Fukwe Saha (vocals/saxophone), Eric Kyalo Mwangangi (percussion/congas), and Muema Nzomo (second keyboards).

As part of their India tour, James Jozee and The Gogosimo Band will also perform in Bengaluru on November 16, and in Mumbai on November 17. Tickets are on sale at Delfino’s in Porvorim, Champs in Panaji, Cavala in Baga and Magsons supermarket in Margao.
