Goa chapter of Ecotourism Society of India launched

The Ecotourism Society of India (ESI), Goa chapter was launched recently during a two day eco- tourism workshop at the International Center of Goa. The workshop was organized by the ESI in association with Goa Tourism and the Travel and Tourism Association of Goa (TTAG). The workshop was attended by ecologists, environmentalists and experts. Participants deliberated on various issues concerning eco-tourism. The workshop aimed at focusing on eco-tourism with the agenda of promoting sustainable tourism  with local community involvement in the initiative towards making India a sustainable and responsible tourism destination.

Nikhil Desai, managing director, GTDC, spoke on the action plan for sustainable tourism in Goa while several eminent personalities shared their views on the topic. Ravi Singh, secretary general and CEO of WWF, India and Steve Borgia, hon. president of the eco-tourism society of India were also present.
