GEMS Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards

On 25th April 2015, the Goa Biz Fest hosted at Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium provided a platform for a confluence of entrepreneurs, ranging the entire spectrum from aspirational to achievers. With the presence of over hundreds of businessmen across the state and captains of industry across the nation, GEMS instituted three awards to deserving young business entrepreneurs in Goa.

The awards were bestowed at the hands of Deputy Chief Minister of Goa Shri. Francis D’Souza and the certificates were awarded at the hands of Shri Narayan Bandekar, the Chairman and Managing Director of NRB Group.

The Young Entrepreneur Of The Year Award (Male) was won by Mr. Pranav Pai Vernekar, the proprietor of ‘Inventrom’ – a startup working in the field of Robotics and Internet of Things. Till date Inventrom has trained more than 3000 students and working professionals Robotics workshops; in Goa, India and internationally.  In Feb. 2015 it successfully conducted workshops in Australia and New Zealand and has also been invited to conduct workshops in some of the leading institutes in India such as IIT Kanpur, IIT Rorkee, IIST and all three campus of BITS Pilani in India etc

The Young Entrepreneur Of The Year Award (Female) was won by Ms. Samira Falari, the proprietor of ‘Shantadurga Concretes’ – a unit that is into production of pavers. With the principle of ‘Specific is terrific’, the company markets a single product with  meticulous in house R&D that makes it aesthetically appealing with the highest compression strength; adding gloss to projects in various segments like eco retreats, temples, banks, hospitals, corporates and individual houses in Maharashtra and Karnataka.

A special award was instituted in the beloved memory of the President of Verna Industrial Association – Late Shri Prashant Shinde at the hands of his wife Mrs. Supriya Shinde. The ‘Prashant Shinde Award for Opportunity Creation’ was won by Milind Prabhu, the proprietor of ‘Genora’ – one of the Fastest Growing Mobile Application (App) Development Companies. The company facilitates building of mobile apps, websites, offshore IT services, cloud migration, artificial intelligence based products, neural networks, enterprise mobility projects and much more; and also functions from an office based out of Kingston, UK thus generating employment to over 30 plus individuals.
