Four more North Goa District Hospital staffers test positive for COVID



Following two doctors of North Goa District Hospital testing positive for COVID, now, four more district hospital staffers have tested positive for COVID.

The COVID patients were shifted to COVID Care Centre for treatment. On Saturday, 12 cases were reported in various places under the jurisdiction of Mapusa, Aldona, Siolim and Colvale health centres.

In the jurisdiction of Aldona health centre, three cases were reported, out of which two are district hospital staffers while one is kidney patient who was undergoing dialysis at  GMC.

Dr Pritam, health officer of Aldona PHC informed that “two cases were reported at Uccassim – district hospital staffer and a case from Corjeum.”

Meanwhile, one COVID case was reported at Camurlim and another one at Thivim.  Dr Damodar Narvenkar informed that both patients are working at district  hospital, Mapusa.

Three COVID cases have been  reported in the area under Siolim PHC, which are all contacts of earlier detected COVID patients, and have been shifted for treatment. One COVID case was found at Anjuna while  two were found at Siolim-Marna.

In Mapusa, four COVID cases were reported on Saturday. Following the detection of COVID cases one restaurant and one shop in the Mapusa market have been closed for three days.

Ashish Shirodkar informed that “restaurant and a shop in the market will remain closed for three days because some of our staffers came in contact with a positive patient. The rest of  staffers had undergone test and tested negative and we have carried out sanitation at hotel premises.”
