A radical twist to the traditional ‘posro’ (the Konkani word for shop), fashion and accessory pop-up ‘PoSRo’, conceptualised by Archana Bhobe of Snip and Kedhar Gawde of Celebrity Locker Entertainment, will introduce a host of new age, millennial and quirky labels to Goa. These include The Temple House, a label promoted by former supermodel and spiritualist Rhea Pillai, Soham Dave’s Zari, MellowDrama, Rriso and more than 30 other snazzy brands.
“It is truly a uniquely curated fashion pop-up with brands and accessories handpicked by us,” says Gawde. For the duo, fashion is not about “being expensive, it is about one’s individual style and personality”. He adds, “All the brands and designers who have been invited to showcase their collections in Goa have an affordable line of clothing and accessories for both men and women. This was our key criterion.”
A fashion icon herself, Bhobe explains, “Each of the designers invited have understand the sensibilities of fashion within the market in Goa. We will be showcasing more than 30 brand and designers each of whom, have something unique to offer.”
What’s unique about this venture is that PoSRo attempts to rope in brands that emphasise sustainable and eco-friendly fashion. The selection process conducted by both Gawde and Bhobe led them to study each brand and their style and only then requested each one of the designers to work on a special line befitting the fashion sensibilities and landscape in Goa.
And with the festive season right around the corner, PoSRo will also include skin care and other lifestyle brands which are ideal for gifting. Nearly 2500 to 3000 patrons are expected to attend the pop-up which will be held between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. on December 8 and 9 at Vivanta Goa, Panaji.
