Panaji: The eight-lane road will be constructed along National Highway 4 from Khandepar to Molem and Molem to Anmod Ghat in the Dharbandora taluka, said PWD Minister Deepak Pauskar.
Pauskar said that the construction of the eight-lane road will be undertaken only after the complete relocation of the existing houses, shops, panchayat house and schools along the NH4.
Government, he said has identified an area in Kasaulim in Dharbandora taluka to relocate the affected buildings.
Pauskar was speaking after hoisting the tricolour at Dharbandora to mark the celebration of Liberation Day at Dharbandora on Thursday.
Speaking further, the PWD Minister said that Goans should not forget the sacrifices and martyrdom of our freedom fighters who laid down their lives for the sake of the Liberation of Goa.
“We are enjoying the fruits of freedom at the cost of their martyrdom, and so we are indebted to them,” he said.
Pauskar said that “soon after the Liberation, Goa made rapid strides in the sectors like healthcare, education, infrastructure, and industry and human development. This has become possible due to the efforts put in by those who led the state.”
He appealed to the people to co-operate and work together to maintain peace and communal harmony, and rededicate themselves to the cause of progress and prosperity of the state.
He said that the Dharbandora taluka is trying to become garbage free, and added that the government has laid the foundation stone to set up waste treatment plant at Cacora-Curchorem at a cost of Rs145 crore.
All the waste generated in the taluka will be sent to this plant for processing, he added.
