With technology changing the workplace drastically, the Department of Public Enterprises, Karnataka conducted a workshop, Innovation and Creativity in Management for its officers recently. Margao based financial advisor and tax specialist was the speaker at the inaugural session. Pandit, spoke on probable changes in the workplace through digital transformation and upcoming trends such as automation, artificial intelligence and micro innovation. “The wave of innovation is coming. Tomorrow belongs to the person who can see it coming and make the change,” he said. The workshop was part of the residential training programme of public sector officers. It was organised by the Centre for Entrepreneurship Development of Karnataka at Varanda Do Mar Boutique Hotel, Miramar.
Pandit backed the introduction of new training model to bridge the gap between education system and industry requirements. He called on participants to develop new skills to stay relevant in the present day workplace. The workshop aimed at transforming HODs of public sector enterprises to manage their teams to efficiently and keeping up with the trends in the digital world. “Public sector units need to keep themselves updated in the face of increased competition from the private sector,” said Pandit.
