Nokia chairman to step down in April

HELSINKI: Nokia Chairman Risto Siilasmaa, who served as the company’s interim CEO from 2013 to 2014, is set to step down in April 2020 and is likely to be replaced by Sari Baldauf. Baldauf, who served as the Executive Vice-President and General Manager of Nokia’s Networks business group from 1998 to 2005, could be the new Chair of the Nokia Board, subject to her re-election to the Board by the Annual General Meeting on April 8, 2020, the company said on Tuesday. Siilasmaa joined the Nokia Board in 2008 and was appointed as the Board Chair in 2012. “During my time as the Board Chair, we repositioned Nokia as a world-leading network technology business, with a strong basis for the future,” Siilasmaa said. SBI donates ambulance to ‘Dilasa’

PANAJI: State Bank of India’s Panaji module has as a part of its corporate social responsibility objectives donated an ambulance to Ponda-based ‘Dilasa’ which is a centre for terminally ill patients. ‘Dilasa’ was founded by the Indian Medical Association’s Ponda chapter. The organisation is instrumental in providing last-mile hospice care to patients afflicted with untreatable and life-threatening conditions. In a ceremony held at a resort at Benaulim, chairman of State Bank of India Rajnish Kumar handed over the keys of the ambulance to Dr Narayan Usgaonkar and Dr Subhash Surekar, the chairman and treasurer of ‘Dilasa’ respectively. Dinesh Khara, managing director SBI; C Venkat Nageshwar, DMD SBI; Soma Sankara Prasad, DMD SBI; Ravindranath G, chief general manager SBI Maharashtra circle; Sanjay Kumar, general manager SBI and MVR Ravi Kumar, deputy general manager of SBI’s Panaji module were amongst those present. Members of ‘Dilasa’ expressed their gratitude and honoured the officials of the bank with shawls. NT
