Developmental works worth Rs 14 lakh launched in Vasco

Vasco: Vasco MLA Carlos Almeida, launched the construction work of a retaining wall and a soak pit at the shelter of People for Animals at Shantinagar, which is estimated to cost Rs 14 lakh.

Local councillor Yatin Kamurlekar, social worker Prasad Naik, Harischandra Naik, Ratnakar Kamble and officials of Animal for Shelter were present on the occasion. Carlos said that the shelter of People for Animals, which is located at Shantinagar for the last several years is causing inconvenience to residents, and so it will be shifted elsewhere.

Kamurlekar expressed his gratitude to Vasco MLA Almeida and MMC chairperson Nandadeep Raut for making provision of funds for the construction of the proposed retaining wall and a soak-pit at People for Animal Shelter. He said that other works including construction work of the proposed steps connecting Vaddem from the last bus stop at New Vaddem besides the construction work of railings, sulabh toilet and beautification will be held shortly. The total estimated cost of the project is Rs 35 lakh, told Kamurlekar. He also thanked the Dabolim MLA Mauvin Godinho for his support.
