Delegates get to interact with French and Romanian film fraternity

French producer Sebastien Aubert, who was named among the ‘100 businessmen who will change France’, was present at ‘Meet the Directors of Cinema of the World’ to represent his film The Strange Ones. He was joined by young actor Bogdan Iancu who stars in the film ‘In Blue’.

The Strange Ones is a film about mysterious events surrounding two travellers as they make their way across a remote American landscape; while ‘In Blue’, follows the story of a sturdy flight attendant who has to deliver a child in mid-air and gets involved in a confusing mother/lover relationship with a boy who lives on the streets of Bucharest.

Producer Sebastien said: “It’s great pleasure to be at IFFI. It is nice to see that Indian cinema is booming. I have watched some great Indian films here and hope to produce some. I had started to develop The Strange Ones in France and later it travelled to over 30 festivals. It’s the first time we are bringing the film here, so this screening in India is the film’s Asian premiere”.

He added that he had not only come here to show his film but was also a part of the Film Bazaar and over the past two days has met Indian producers and directors with interesting projects.  “I might co-produce some them,” he said.

Actor Bogdan said that he felt honoured to be part of In Blue: “I was able to convey the emotions behind the situation in Romania through this film.” Expressing his happiness about visiting India and being part of IFFI, he said: I had never thought that I will be able to ever come to India or be invited for this film festival. It is absolutely amazing and India has been marvellous so far.”
