Tourism industry stakeholders are giving the thumbs up to the news of Goa International Travel Mart (GITM) being scheduled for October 23-25 this year. According to stakeholders, the B2B event will boost tourism and increase business.
Hosted by the department of tourism and GTDC, this is the third edition of GITM with the previous two editions held in 2011 and 2014. Speaking on the forthcoming event, J Ashok Kumar, secretary tourism, said, “This year’s GITM promises to be bigger and better. When the entire global economy is focused on tourism as a key industry and tourists’ thirst to explore and experience continues to grow, events like GITM serve as an ideal platform for stakeholders to engage in dialogue and business opportunities.”
The event is expected to be attended by over 125 international buyers from 50 countries and on the domestic front over 150 buyers have confirmed their participation along with industry associations such as TTAG, TAAI, TAFI, ADYOI, ATTOI, IATO. International media around 25 bloggers as well as around 35 domestic media, will be participants.
A special Goa Pavilion will be created to showcase festivals and nightlife, beaches, heritage trails, UNESCO heritage sites, wildlife, medical tourism, monsoon tourism, MICE, wedding destination, religious tourism, spice farms and adventure.
