DBC celebrates Liberation Day

Don Bosco College, Panaji paid tribute to freedom fighters and motherland through an elaborate gathering and flag hoisting on the occasion of Goa Liberation Day.

Chief guest for the day was Suresh Amonkar, an academician who translated Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar to Konkani. Speaking on the day, he said: “Our pride is our state, and here is where we must remain and seek opportunities that are present in abundance.” he said.

Students Rati Fatarpekar and Prachi Naik compered the programme in Konkani. The flag hoisting and singing of the national anthem was followed by a dance to local beats by the students and a short portrayal of yoga.

Students performed a song narrating the stories of the State which was followed by a street play on the theme of education.
