The Airports Authority of India (AAI) is geared up to commence domestic flight operations from the Dabolim airport by following the standard operating procedure (SOP).
Domestic flight operations at the Dabolim airport will commence from May 25 and around 15 flights are expected from cities like Bengaluru, New Delhi, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Mysuru.
Airport director Gagan Malik held a meeting with the airline operators on Friday and gave necessary instructions to the operators. The AAI will make all efforts to handle the passengers on their arrival and departure in view of the COVID-19 situation. All the arriving and departing passengers will be screened with the help of thermal scanners and throat swabs will be sent for examination.
Flight operations at the Dabolim airport will be limited due to the COVID-19 threat. According to sources, the AAI has asked the airline operators to reserve rear 20 seats of the planes, in case any passenger is found with suspected symptoms of coronavirus while travelling.
