Alleging that the COVID-19 hospital in Margao is a total disaster with no proper facilities and care being provided to the patients admitted there, Curtorim legislator Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco Saturday said Chief Minister Pramod Sawant should look into the issue and make immediate improvements in the management of the hospital.
Speaking to media persons, Reginaldo said, “The COVID hospital is itself a disaster. There are no facilities there and no proper toilets. Food is kept outside and not properly served to the patients. The situation of the COVID care centres is the same.”
Appealing to the Chief Minister to prioritise the issue and make immediate improvements in the
COVID hospital, Lourenco said, “Health Minister Vishwajit Rane should also make the medicines and ventilators available at the hospital. How can the doctors and nurses work without the necessary equipment? Why is the government not serious in treating COVID patients in Goa? People want answers from the government.”
It may be noted that videos indicating poor condition of the COVID hospital have gone viral on social media since Friday.
Fatorda legislator Vijai Sardesai was quick to react to the videos, stating that the government has neglected the COVID patients, as the attention of the Chief Minister is focused towards bringing tourists into the state.
