CNC Machine Workshop organised by Don Bosco College of Engineering

A one-day workshop on ‘CNC Machines’ was organised by the mechanical engineering department of Don Bosco College of Engineering (DCBE), Fatorda in collaboration with Turbocam India Pvt Ltd for students of engineering and polytechnic colleges. In all sixty-eight students from various institutes as well as industry professionals attended the workshop.
Resource persons for the programme were Turbocam officials Sheldon Sardinha, and professors of Don Bosco College of Engineering Ameya Shirodkar, Ajit Salunke, Suraj Marathe and Avil D’Sa. Topics covered included computer numerical control, computer aided inspection, CNC programming and maintenance.
The workshop was inaugurated by Turbocam general manager Savio Carvalho. Dignitaries present on the occasion included DBCE Director Fr Kinley D’Cruz, principal C S Gokhale, and registrar R B Khandeparkar, among others.
Speaking on the occasion, Carvalho stressed the significance of CNC Machines in mass production and the impact of precision manufacturing on the nation’s GDP.
