Vasco: The grade separator project at the Dabolim airport will be inaugurated at the hands of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on May 26 at 11 am.
Minister for Transport and Panchayats Mauvin Godinho disclosed that the minor works which were pending towards the exit gate of Dabolim airport of grade separator project was completed after issuing all necessary directions to the concerned authorities like PWD, National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation (GSIDC).
“The foundation stone for around Rs 45 crore worth project was laid at the hands of the then Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar in the year 2014. The project was supposed to get completed in just eleven months but due to technical reasons, it got delayed. Recently, the project was announced for inauguration but due to COVID-19 crises, it was further delayed,” said Godinho.
“Traffic congestion which was order of the day at the Dabolim airport road will be resolved with the commissioning of much-awaited grade separator project. Due to growth in traffic, the project was essential and it will come as a boon for the people. It is the first-of-its-kind project in the state,” informed Godinho.
Commenting on developmental projects in the state, Godinho said that the state government has not stopped any developmental projects, despite financial crises due to the lockdown situation adding, “The state government is committed to continuing welfare schemes and developmental projects.”
