Sankhali: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant visited Goa Dodamarg border and instructed the police staff to follow strict security checks in order to avoid people from Maharashtra coming into Goa and vice versa through the dense forest.

Sawant visited Dodamarg border after a hue and cry from public about entering of people from Maharashtra to Goa despite strict police bandobast.

“Some people are coming to Goa from Maharashtra without following the rules and regulations. The police should therefore keep a strict vigil and ensure that no one from Maharashtra will infiltrate illegally,” said Chief Minister Pramod Sawant.

Sawant was accompanied by Speaker Rajesh Patnekar, deputy collector Sachin Desai, deputy superintendent of police Gurudas Gawade, Bicholim PI Sanjay Dalvi, Sal sarpanch Ghanshyam Raut and villagers.

“Although Goa is safe, care has to be taken for many months in the interest of every human being” added Sawant.
