Panaji: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant met Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in New Delhi on Tuesday and discussed various issues related to the state.
The meeting, which took place ahead of the presentation of the Union budget, also saw Sawant providing some budgetary inputs to the Union Finance Minister pertaining to Goa.
“I discussed various issues pertaining to the state of Goa,” the Chief Minister, who also holds the finance portfolio, later tweeted.
It is learnt that Sawant discussed state’s priorities in the Union budget, including a special financial package for the state owing to the dwindling resources in view of mining closure.
The Union budget is to be tabled in the Parliament on February 1.
