CM announces Rs1 lakh ex-gratia for Dongri landslide-hit families


PANAJI : Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar has announced ex-gratia of Rs 1 lakh to each of the household at Dhaktebhat in Dongri village of St Andre constituency, which suffered damages after a landslide due to incessant rains.The Chief Minister made this announcement after he visited the site of the landslide on Saturday noon, along with the local MLA Vishnu Wagh. The landslide had occurred late night on June 18, following incessant rains, with the mud and boulders damaging at least 3 to 4 houses. Fortunately, nobody was injured in the mishap.

Later, the St Andre MLA said that the possibility of temporarily moving these families to a vacant building of the Mandur primary health centre is also being studied. “It is becoming difficult for these families to stay in their damaged houses, especially with heavy rains pouring down,” he added.
