A book titled ‘Career Guide’ written by Ponda-based advocate, Shailesh Kulkarni was released at the hands of minister for art and culture, Govind Gaude at a press conference held on Friday, Kala Academy, Panaji.
This is Kulkarni’s third book published for Goan students.
The book sheds light on careers in engineering, medicine, research, arts, science, commerce and more. “It covers almost 60 career options in detail. Most importantly, it gives in-depth information about public services exams like UPSC, IAS, IPS, etc,” said
Kulkarni has conducted more than 100 career-based seminars in Goa and Maharashtra and has also produced a short film titled ‘Sushegaad – a blockage’ which speaks about the attraction to government jobs among 80 per cent of Goan students.
Speaking on the occasion, Gaude said: “This book is of utmost importance to the youth especially for class 10 and class 12 students to know which field they can excel in and achieve success in life.”
He further informed that career guidance is important to teachers as well so that they can guide their students. Stressing on the need to inculcate a reading habit, Gaude said: “If we read I think we can make decisions on our own and will not need to depend on others. I request all students to buy this book; read it and choose the right career path.”
