Chicalim hospital staff recruitment will be completed shortly: Mauvin

VASCO: Panchayati Raj Minister Mauvin Godinho has said that the inauguration of the newly constructed sub-district hospital at Chicalim has been delayed due to the process of staff recruitment that will be completed very shortly.

Godinho was speaking at the valedictory function cum finals of 11th All Goa Dandia Garba Dance Competition, organised by Nivedam Social Cultural and Sports Club New Vaddem, with the support of Amith Group, at Vaddem Nagar School Ground.

The function was attended by South Goa MP Narendra Sawaikar, Nivedam Navratrotsav Committee-2018 president Gaurish Naik, Mormugao municipal councillors Rajan Faldessai, Gaurish Mardolkar and Yatin Kamurlekar, Dabolim BJP Mahila Morcha president Anita Thorat and others.

“Goa government wants to inaugurate the sub-district hospital at Chicalim at the earliest, but before the inauguration of the project, certain care should be taken in absorbing the required staff like doctors, nurses and other essential employees,” said Godinho.

He said that the state government is committed to the welfare of the people and overall development of the state by making available infrastructure facilities like roads and bridges.

He congratulated Nivedam organisation for organising the Dandia Garba event for the last twelve years, with the aim to unite the people, irrespective of caste and creed.

“Nivedam is at number one position in the state for organising Dandia Garbha event in a disciplined manner,” he said.

The first prize – Rs 25,000, a trophy and a rolling trophy was bagged by Saiyogam Kala Sangh, Sada; second prize of Rs 15,000 and trophy was awarded to Nirbhay Bhav, Porvorim, and the third and fourth prizes of Rs 10,000 and Rs 5,000 besides trophies were presented to Dynamic Art Entertainment Panaji and Blossom Group, Sankhali respectively.
