Panaji: Chapora Yuvak Sangh scored a thumping 7-1 win over their opponents Saligao United while FC Siolim and Siolim Sodiem played out a 1-1 draw in the GFA Third Division League played on Sunday.
At Chapora ground, it was a one way traffic as the host dominated the preceding from the word go. It took them just four minutes to break the deadlock through Lesten Martins and the striker obliged with the second chance in the next minute doubled the tally 2-0 with just five minutes on the clock.
Chapora were clearly the better side in the first session but Saligao United managed to keep the scores at minimal deficit till the break.
Lesten Martins completed his hat-trick in the 50th minute while at the hour mark, Pundalik Madgaonkar scored the fourth.
Saligao United had a rare opportunity in the 70th minute and Nestor Dias made the best of it to pull a goal back to make it 1-4.
Chapora‘s star player Lesten had more plans and the lad scored the fifth in the 76th minute. In the final 10 minutes of the game, Chapora scored two more goals through Aniket Dabholkar’s brace.
At Siolim Church ground, FC Siolim drew with Siolim Sodiem 1-1. Sonu Mandrekar took Siolim Sodiem ahead in the game in the 13th minute and in the second
half, Rahul Totad made it all square in the 49th minute.
Earlier the match was kicked off by Silvester Fernandes in presence of Lavinio Rebello Senior Vice President along with Executive Member Babli Mandrekar.
