Coin shortage compels KTC to cut fare by Re 1

PANAJI: Within three days of hike in the ticket fare on the Margao-Panaji route, the Kadamba Transport Corporation (KTC) has been forced to slash the bus fare by Re 1 as it is facing acute shortage of coins. The ticket for shuttle service was Rs 27 and has now been reduced to Rs 26.

AICTE okays masters in engineering, pharmacy courses for Goa

PANAJI: The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has given a green signal to start one new branch each, for the Master of Engineering course at the Goa College of Engineering, Farmagudi and Master of Pharmacy course at the city pharmacy college. Admissions will begin for these post graduation courses at the two institutions, later this month.

MARGAO: The bail application moved by the former tourism minister Francisco Pacheco alias Mickky, who is named as the main accused in the Nadia death case and presently in police custody, was heard by the Additional District and Sessions Judge, South Goa, Margao, Mr Justice B P Deshpande on Monday and he posted the matter for orders on Tuesday.
