NRI Goans to get long-term visas

PANAJI: The Commissioner for NRI Affairs, Mr Eduardo Faleiro has said that the Union Home Minister, Mr P Chidambaram has informed him that all Indian missions abroad and the foreigners regional registration office (FRRO), Goa, would be directed to issue long-term visas or extendable visas to persons of Goan origin holding foreign passports, as against the short period tourist visas that they are issued presently.

2 Vasco residents die in Anmod Ghat mishap

State has 6,791 vehicles with HSRP

PANAJI: Goa has a total of 6,791 vehicles with the high security registration plates installed, with just 187 vehicles having the number plate installed this year. As per information available with the transport department 6,604 vehicles were fitted with the HSRP last year.
