Worker killed in Fatorda tank blast

MARGAO: A 35-year-old worker died and two others were seriously injured when a tank containing molasses exploded in a scrapyard at Chandrawaddo, Fatorda on Thursday morning.
Police and fire services personnel informed that welding work was going on in order to cut a tanker and convert it into scrap.

Rs 6 cr for Morjim roads: Parsekar

MAPUSA: The state BJP president and Mandrem MLA, Mr Laxmikant Parsekar said that road works to the tune of Rs 6 crore have been taken up at Morjim in Pernem and that the same are expected to be completed before monsoons.
Speaking to this daily, Mr Parsekar said that various works pertaining to the roads from Morjim to Mandrem and Chopdem to Morjim, such as widening, hot-mixing, building drains and culverts etc, are going on and that hot-mixing would be taken up soon.
