Saudi students arrested in Margao

MARGAO: Three students of a Bangalore-based engineering college, were arrested on Friday morning by the Margao police, for committing the theft of a bag containing electronic goods.
Margao police said that all three students are originally from Saudi Arabia, but were studying in a college at Bangalore. Offence under section 279 of IPC has been registered.

Rules on filling vacant posts of school heads

PANAJI:  The government has notified draft rules, proposed to be made for amendment to the Goa, Daman and Diu School Education Rules, 1986, which will ensure that the managing committees of the schools on obtaining approval from the  education director to fill up the vacant posts of the heads of the schools by direct recruitment or by promotion, as the case may be, shall fill up the vacant posts within a period of four months from the date of such approval.
