CM assures report on status of scrap yards

PANAJI: Responding to the concern expressed by the Aldona MLA, Mr Dayanand Narvekar that the stretch of cultivable agricultural land along the national highway from Karaswada to Colvale has been encroached by the scrap mafia, the Chief Minister, Mr Digambar Kamat on Tuesday said that the House would be provided with a report prepared by a joint committee, headed by the district Collector as regards the status of scrap yards in Bardez taluka.

Kamat brushes aside demand for investigation in SEZ land allotment

Ten tonnes of meat buried in Mollem forest area

Guirim panch booked for assaulting woman

MAPUSA: Guirim panch, Digamber Harmalkar was booked by the Mapusa police for allegedly assaulting a 60-year-old woman from Guirim. According to the police, the panch on Tuesday evening barged into the house of Ms Ramavati Gadekar and assaulted her with a danda on her head and fled from the scene.
