Bus owners warn of indefinite strike from July 12 if demands not met

Credit goes to people for bandh success: Parsekar

PANAJI: Claiming that the bandh called by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and other opposition parties against the recent decision of the central government to hike the prices of the petroleum products was cent per cent successful in Goa, the president of the state unit of BJP, Mr Laxmikant Parsekar said that the credit for this success goes to the Goan people, who through voluntary support for the bandh displayed their anger towards the state as well as the central government.

Bandh hits industrial sector in state

PANAJI: The state industrial sector Monday felt a blow resulting from the bandh, a part of the nationwide bandh call given by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Left parties, against the recent decision of the central government to hike the prices of the petroleum products, with the state suffering a loss of approximately Rs 8 crore as per the initial estimates of the local industry.

Transport director threatens stern action against bus owners

PANAJI: The transport director, Mr Arun Dessai Monday said that stern action will be taken against the buses which participated in the July 5 bandh called by the bus owners association. He however also welcomed the bus owners association for further talks to resolve their issue.
